like back in the 70s some of those documentaries you know from sun pictures international and the legend of bigfoot and you think oh it's going to be a documentary pay your money get your popcorn you go in you sit down and then it's a bunch of goofy teenagers out in the woods like hey you think we can find bigfoot gee i don't know you know i wanted to say something It's disappointing.

It's just some made up.

And I think we started looking for the facts early because that's why we focus so much on the realistic, you know, even though we'll mention stuff like one step beyond at a very early time, think back on this for, for anybody that doesn't know what we're talking about.

The director, John Newland...

Back in the 50s, he created the TV series One Step Beyond, which is a sort of Twilight Zone precursor to that, which actually had some really creepy episodes to it.

He was mostly a TV director too, right?

Yeah, he was an actor that got into directing too, but I always remember his face because I believe he did the intros for the One Step Beyond.

And I did find, whether it's true or not, but John Chambers, the makeup guy who did Planet of the Apes, was not credited but did the makeup or created the masks for the walnut-faced creatures.

Obviously, he had very little budget, too.
