Alaska Republican Party

Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave? [audience applauding]

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the stage chairwoman of the Alaska Republican Party, Carmela Warfield.

[audience applauding]

Thank you everyone, and welcome to the mighty Mat-Su.

They have those jungle primaries in Alaska now.

The Alaska Republican Party previously asked state election officials to remove the candidate, Dan J. Sullivan, from the ballot, and the state division of elections kicked J. Sullivan off the ballot, but that decision was then later overruled by a state judge.

Now, under this open primary system they have in Alaska, all candidates for an office run against each other in the primary election, and then the top four candidates, regardless of political party, advance to the general election in November, and then there, voters rank the candidates in order of preference.

So the group is asking federal prosecutors to probe the very nonprofits and political action committees who essentially elevated Dan J. Sullivan for evidence of communication and coordination.
