They only had nine players fit by that stage, which is, again, we spoke about it at the beginning when Alana Smith went down in that opening match.

Not being able to replace players for me, I'm not here for

Yeah, so they got over Italy 82 to 80, but the team just kept getting knocked down with injuries.

So just before the tournament, Captain Sammy Whitcomb withdrew.

As we said, Alana Smith went down in game one.

Jade Melbourne set out with illness.

Paige Bueckers unfortunately is dealing with a knee issue.

And then, um, the Opals losing Alana Smith, who also had her own health issues.

Like, you kind of wonder how that's gonna impact Dallas going into the playoffs as well.

They're already down AZ Fudd, so they're gonna be dealing with potentially even more injuries as well.

And again, as Jude mentions in the chat, first series of the WNBA playoffs is three games.

So I am fascinated to see how the seating works out because right now I think the DEFCON like emergency, this is all gone wrong type of scenario is you get the mystics in the first round who are incredibly big they have a six foot five center off the bench and bets irfan and austin have been awesome they play physical that i don't that's going to be a three game series and i don't know if you can stay healthy through that just by the amount of like physicality and then like god forbid if they get atlanta in the second round and now you're going up against one of the best defensive teams in the league angel reese jordan canada's an incredible defender I mean, it almost feels like they're going to need some luck to either get Dallas to be the eighth seed so they can just go beat up on a Dallas team that doesn't have AZ Fudd or Alana Smith now, or they're going to have to just go through a gauntlet to win this championship, which...

I don't know.

It's so interesting this year because, like, statistically, the Lynx should be the favorite to win the championship.

If you are paying attention to women's basketball, um, another shout out goes to Dallas wings, um, And the players who've been putting in work while Coach Jose, Paige Beckers, and Alana Smith are overseas playing.

So if you were someone who normally watches for my WNBA content, I did get a few interviews done with some of the folks who are in town.

She didn't play the majority of the matchup.

She was out with injury as well.

So those are two front court players that you're missing out on, and two just players to have bodies to go up against a Spain team that is more rested compared to how you are.
