Alan Yentob

So I love my 1966 copy of The Golden Notebook.

I should say, if anybody's interested in what we're talking about here, an episode of Imagine, which was the BBC Two Arts programme presented by Alan Yentob, really good interviewer.

And it's on YouTube on the BBC channel.

If you just do a search for Doris Lessing Imagine, you'll find it.

Of course we do.

But to actually re- I really have found him as such in the last few years, and I, and I, I encourage people to watch the Alan Yentob documentary about him.

His life is so fascinating.

He's an interesting character.

So New Year's Eve, the matinee of the producers was on.

And Alan Yentob was Mel's boss, basically.

Yes, at the BBC.

Yeah.

Yeah.

He was, wasn't he? Yeah, he was, yeah.

And so Alan Yentob said, look, if you're going to New York, do you want to go and see the producers? Because Mel Brooks is a friend of mine and I'll get you some house seats.

No, and it was commissioned by, I think, Alan Yentob.

But it wouldn't bother me whether it went to America because it's so, in a sense, quintessentially British and, yeah, maybe you could have a version...
