Alan Wake 2

I played i- I played Alan Wake II, and I liked Alan Wake II, and that's about-

Yeah

... as far as I go, um, down that rabbit hole.

Yeah.

I mean, uh, uh, you know, Alan Wake 2, a, a game of the year winner, right? That was just a little like hamstrung by its release, uh, being like only on Epic Games Store and not being on Steam, and that caused it not to f- find a lot of the audience that probably would've found it otherwise.

So it's like-

Spider-Man-

Yeah, there was, uh, what? It was Marvel's Spider-Man, Baldur's Gate, Tears of the Kingdom, Alan Wake 2, the Resident Evil 4 remake, and Mario Bros Wonder.

Yeah.

All great games, obviously.

Yeah.

So like how that song relates to whatever is happening at the moment, you know, there was multiple moments like that, Alan Wake, right? Alan Wake and Alan Wake 2.

Also, the original Control was something, there was one moment I'm like, whoa, like they had that one song that highlights the whole vibe of the game, right? This one was 10 times of that, of like...

Not only the boss battles, but also when you go into like one area to the next, there's like a special song that comes up that connects to that.

what I feel like they did? To your point, this, in my opinion, is their best game that they've ever made.

I agree.

If you go back a few years, I think we all agree with like Alan Wake 2 game of the year.

Like that's that's how that's how good this is.

And it's going to tell whether or not people are actually interested in pursuing this universe any further.

Because Control was a great game, right? And then they kind of cheated when they put out Alan Wake 2, which was basically a sequel to Control.

Like, there's very little in that game that was actually about Alan Wake.

You know, it was more, it was... more in the wheelhouse of control so now that we have an actual control sequel coming out uh if this game does well i think it's really going to tell us whether or not people want more from this uh this remedy connected universe

Combining the likes of Stephen King and Twin Peaks with the game mechanics of Silent Hill, a new genre of game would emerge.

Alan Wake would drop to generally positive reviews, but even though it would spawn off a pseudo-sequel, Alan Wake's American Nightmare... a nightmare excuse me not a nightmare and would sell around 3.5 million copies the series would ultimately be considered a commercial failure as we say hindsight is 2020 the attempt to launch alan wake 2 would fall on microsoft's deaf ears um alan wake original alan wake and american nightmare um jordan did you ever get your hands on either of those games

Just the main game.

I feel like I didn't try it until mid-2010.

I like the actor now.

Yeah.

In his roles in Control and in Alan Wake 2 and all that.

But there was something about his narration in Alan Wake 1 where I was like, this is so grating.

It's a perfect game for an escapist person, a bit like me.

And the other game where I felt it looked completely amazing visually was Alan Wake 2.

And it's also kind of natural setting in the U.S.

I think states like Michigan and some others, Oregon, they are the best place to do video games.

But those universes, Alan Wake 1 and 2, are connected to Control.

And I would really love to play through Alan Wake, its DLC, Control, Alan Wake 2, and then Control Resonant in one kind of long string.

I think that would be a lot of fun.

That's kind of my goal for that series.
