We are joined today by former U.S. District Judge for the Western District of Texas and current partner at A&O Shearman, Alan Albright.

She stood before the U.S. District Judge Mark C. Scarcy on Monday and received just 18 months of probation plus 120 hours of community service for one felony count of paying another person to register in a federal election.

That charge normally carries up to five years behind bars, yet you had the prosecutors who dropped any extra counts tied to the same operation once she took the plea and cooperated.

And the thing is, the whole scam was caught on tape.

so they started investigating it and they're like we're looking at staff who have posted it or shared it and it's you know reprehensible the inappropriate content on social media about the assassination of charlie kirk i don't know anybody that would actually celebrate something like that but there were teachers that were doing it even So the state argued that the letter was not new policy, and they pointed to existing ethics rules.

Districts, not T, made most of the employment decisions.

And then you had the district judge, Alan Albright, who dismissed the lawsuit, noting that the union failed to prove that Morath's guidance caused harm to teachers.

That still, to this day, and I think I'm not alone in that assessment, haunts me, what happened to Charlie Kirk.
