Alabama's Ghost

This received a limited theatrical release in 1973, which must have given brain seizures to those who saw it on the big screen.

The director also made the equally loony Alabama's Ghost in Roseland.

As Michael Weldon has already asked, who is Hobbes and how could he have escaped

attention for so long?

His most ambitious parade sculpture was the Trojan Horse, a horrendous tableau of mythological monsters that rose from Procrustean slags of plexiglass attached to a stripped-down autochassis.

Wearing an orange jumpsuit, Hobbes drove the creation to Los Angeles, where it exhibited at several locations.

Lucky for us, the Trojan horse is also featured prominently in Hobbes' film Alabama's Ghost.

In 1969, he directed his first feature, the art film Troika, which was reviewed favorably at the time but never received wide release.
