Al-Yamama

The year is 632 AD.

There's a walled orchard in the region of Al-Yamama called the Garden of Rahman.

In Arabic, Rahman means merciful, but no one will call it that again.

This orchard belongs to a man named Musaylimah.

The battle is remembered as one of the bloodiest of the entire Rida period, and its consequences reach far beyond the battlefield.

Remember the Hafiz, the men who had memorized the entire Qur'an by heart during Muhammad's lifetime? The deaths of so many may have been part of what inspired the first formal compilation of the Qur'an into a single written text, a process that shapes Islamic scholarship for centuries afterward.

Politically, Al-Yamama becomes the turning point.

With the biggest of the four false prophets gone, the rest of the rebellions fold one by one, all brought back under Abu Bakr's control.
