Imam al-Nawawi, 40 years old.

But if somebody comes and says, "Oh, the Mawlid is bid'ah because Ibn Taymiyyah said," and I respect Ibn Taymiyyah, and I consider myself to be of his strand, I have to be fair, and I have to say that doesn't have the same epistemic weight as the entirety of the tradition uniting.

Because if I quote Ibn Taymiyyah, the other person's gonna quote Ibn Hajar or As-Suyuti or a, a gazillion other...

An-Nawawi, uh, so many other scholars.

Now, Ibn Hajar and As-Suyuti and I- Ibn Taymiyyah, now we're talking about a difference of authority then.

So understand appeal to authority, while it has a role and a function, put it in its place.

And if you follow an authority that is respected and your interlocutor follows another authority that is respected, then you have to humble yourself to the reality that there has been and there shall remain a difference of opinion in this issue, even if you choose one over the other.

So that's for another, one point.

Another point within this reality, and listen to this carefully.

But when you start going a far off left, that's when people start to also get put off by such things.

And this is what Imam Suyuthi said, and I mentioned this in the uprun, the uprun to the, to the, to the month of Rabbi al-Awwal, resembling the passage, the Aman al-Mawlid, um, or al- al- Mawlid.

I mentioned what he defined it as.

The Sheikh, [speaking Arabic] he started by saying, [speaking Arabic] Some copies it says, [speaking Arabic] Suyuti here mentions that the scholars, they spoke about the number of verses that are abrogated, [speaking Arabic] the people.

They've mentioned a lot [speaking Arabic] when it comes to the verses that are abrogated, [speaking Arabic] the numbers that they've mentioned.

For example, we have Abu Muhammad ibn Hazm, who died the year 320 Hijriyah.

With what? The ayat is safe, the verse that commands the fighting and jihad.

[speaking Arabic] 114 verses have been abrogated with ayat to safe, the ayah of the sword.

So Suyuti here, that's what he's talking about.

[speaking Arabic] The number of verses that have been abrogated in the Quran, scholars have mentioned a lot of number for it, and the books that are written, [speaking Arabic] in his Kitab, [speaking Arabic] he mentions 34 books that were authored in the science of [speaking Arabic].

Those rulings are established across the Qur'an, Sunnah, and Islamic law.

Imam al-Suyuti mentions regarding this verse.

This verse explains the manner of warfare.

At the time of direct battle, there is fighting.

And I wrote the book basically, again, while processing my grief.

The book actually, the introduction begins with the story of Imam Suyuti, who was one of the most prolific Muslim scholars.

As much as his scholarship, he is known actually for his spirituality.

He's known to be also a saint, right? Or Waliullah, like what's called someone who is really mindful of God with his taqwa.

So part of his biography, actually, Imam Suyuti, he lost several of his children.

And then he, I think, just... partially in order to find some comfort.

He collected the Hadith of the Prophet about losing your child to death.
