Al Hajar Mountains

So this is an area, it's part of the Emirate of Sharjah, but it's about 45 minutes drive towards the Hajar Mountain.

So you have the Hajar Mountains, which are basically bordering between UAE and Oman.

you have the sand coming and stopping.

There's a small outcrop of rocks, sort of more sedimentary rocks, that are kind of the sand ends there.

And then you have this flat area, and then you have the Hajar Mountains.

So again, this area, because of the geography, There's a lot of underground water in this flat area.

And so there were settlements from, this is Bronze Age, but also not very far from this spot, there was Stone Age remains.

This morning, I was out in Hatta, which is an exclave of Dubai about an hour and a half's drive from here, and it's the mountains.

It's part of the Hajar Mountain range.

You have these steep, rocky mountains where you could go hiking and mountain biking and kayaking, and it's the side of Dubai that is not really well known outside of here.

Residents, we all go there in winter.
