And my first instinct was to do the classic R&B, the Marvin Gaye, the Al Green.

But I was like, no, no, I'm going to push myself to discover some R&B.

So I looked over James's playlist.

And Al Green, of course.

I threw Isaac Hayes, the theme from Shaft, because I just love that song.

A melody came to me and I put the words into the, into the song.

And at the time I was listening to a lot of Alan, I think his name's Al Green.

And he's the one that sings like Grandma's Hands and like those old songs.

I don't know if you know the singer I'm talking about, but in the song I go, mm-hmm, like that.

But let's start with this one.

That's number four.

Uh, number three, my third favorite show, um, I saw Al Green in '94.

This was his first tour doing secular music.

So I had a, you know, um, look about it.

Phenomenal soul star.

Phenomenal s- he's an icon of soul music.

And, uh, I knew he was good.

And I found that most of it wasn't that helpful either.

And we've talked about this before, actually, like Al Green, it's too, he's too sad and lonely and it's too much about, baby, let's just forget about whatever it is I did and let's get back together again.

Everybody makes mistakes.

Curtis Mayfield was just too socially conscious and I was far too self-centered in that moment.

I mean, Royal is a significant, I mean, so many legendary albums came out of there.

Yeah, a lot of the Al Green stuff is what they're known for best.
