Al-Futuhat al-Makkiyya

Nuqta, is it mentioned in the Quran? No, it's not.

Okay? But it- its importance comes from the Arabic language writing and later the metaphysical interpretation from the Sufis, the Gnostics, and especially in the greatest sheikh, the greatest master, Sidi Muhyiddin Ibn Arabi, in the science of the letters, where he mentioned it in the beginning of the Futuhat.

Although the Quran does not use the word nuqta or naqata, Ibn Arabi gives the point a central symbolic role as the origin of the letters and the line, because the line-- all letters are various forms of the line.

But the origin of the let- the, the alif is the dot.

Also, Sidi Muhyiddin mentions Sheikh Shibli, this great Sufi, where he also describes something similar to what Imam Ali said.

Ibn Arabi, however, gives the nuqta a precise metaphysical role within his science of letters, especially in the relation to the ba of bismi, the name of.

This is, uh, some, um, paragraphs and sentences where he spoke about the nuqta in the Futuhat.

So let's now go and delve and see what the Shaykh Sayyidina Muhyiddin said.

In the Futuhat, he said, the letter is that through which God, the real, addresses and speaks to creation by means of expressions.

He also said, according to human beings, these letters, we understand them as letters.

However, they are commandments.
