Al-Burooj

He mentioned his name Al-Wadud, the all-loving with Al-Ghafur.

Surat Al-Buruj.

Wa huwa Al-Ghafur Al-Wadud.

Ghafur first and Wadud.

To what extent can you rehabilitate them within the Muslim community and Muslim societies? Because if you suggest it to the victims and the families of the victims, it's almost blasphemous, and you get a backlash from it.

And then he said to me that in Surah Al-Buruj, Allah Subhanahu Ta'ala when he talks about those who burnt the Muslims in the pit, Allah later on in the surah, the attributes he ascribes himself is, "Wa Huwa Al-Ghafur Al-Wadud," that He is the one who forgives, and He is the one capable of loving you.

And Omar Shukri was saying that th- there's some mufassireen, they interpret this ayah as applying to those who committed the crime, not those who were burnt in the pit.

So I was like, "Sheikh Omar, where are you going with this?" He said, "Human beings might have the capacity to forgive, but as the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu said to Hind, 'I forgive you, but please don't come in front of me,' or to Wahshi, 'I forgive you, but don't come in front of me too much,' demonstrating that I can forgive you.

Indeed, certainly, that is the greatest success.

This ayah came in Surah Al-Buruj and it was a reference to those believers.

But when we look at their situation, their belief, their la ilaha illa Allah and them living upon this word for was for days, for hours of their life.

So what action did they do? What righteous deed did they do? How come Allah Azzawajal is saying, dhalikal fawzul kabeer? That is the greatest and the biggest success.

Indeed, certainly, that is the greatest success.

So what action did they do? What righteous deed did they do? How come Allah Azza wa Jal is saying, ذَٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْكَبِيرُ That is the greatest and the biggest success.

So this is another great example of teaching methods of Rasulullah ﷺ that is teaching us sabr and the importance of being patient from stories of previous nations.

And this story is briefly referred to in the Qur'an as well, in Surah Al-Buruj.

Allah says, And the next few verses, the meaning of which is, Cursed were the people of the ditch.

in the story of the boy and the king, of fire fed with fuel.
