I will give a shout out beyond just the Toronto Corps, though.

There's some really great mayors that want to cross the region as well.

So I'm going to give a shout out to Marilyn Crawford because I am in Ajax right now and I'm looking forward to working with our new mayor there.

And also Alvin Tejo, big win in Mississauga.

You're the VP of the Scarborough Boys & Girls Club.

Um, I know even w- in my community in Ajax, when I talk to, forget kids under 18, but 18, 19, 20, 21-year-olds, they feel, they feel a little bit of a sense of desperation.

Being that age is tough.

You don't know where it's all gonna go.

That's 200 grand.

Can you imagine watching, you sit down, watch Jeopardy! one night, there's Ken Jennings, "And joining us now from Ajax, Ontario, a dog park consultant." I'm like, and then I, I get to explain what I do, and I'm like, "I don't know.

Um, I, I got paid 200 grand, and I just, I told people what I thought the dog park should look like, where the fences should be.

from Canada? Some 41.

They're Canadian? They are from Ajax, Ontario.

As the 2026 election approaches, many residents have questions about how their vote is protected, what measures are in place to keep the process secure, and what they can do to help ensure their vote counts.

The town helps protect voters from confusion and misinformation by directing residents to trusted official sources.

If something about the election does not seem right, whether it's a suspicious message, a request for your voting pin, or information that does not match what is posted by the town, contact the election team directly.

Strong mayor powers are a more recent introduction to some mayors in Ontario and are designated by the provincial government.

And so what does council do? It is the role of council to represent the public and to consider the well-being and interests of the municipality, carry out the duties of council under the Municipal Act or any other act, develop and evaluate the policies and programs of the municipality, determine which services the municipality provides, ensure that administrative practices and procedures are in place to implement the decisions of council, and maintain the financial integrity of the municipality.

Ajax Council is made up of seven elected officials: one mayor, three regional councilors, and three local councilors.

It mentions Ajax Mayor Shaun Collier has acknowledged many of Ontario's big cities were experiencing capacity issues with the recent flood of asylum seekers, and Ajax has over two hundred in the last two weeks.

Of our two hundred, approximately half are documented in the system, so the feds have or are supposed to have provided funding for them.
