Agnes Tirop

Yeah.

This is, for better or for worse, the show where a beginning runner and an experienced runner help each other chase their goals.

We are at the beginning of a very special episode because my wife, Alexis D'Souza Sear, and I are live from Barcelona.

We are in Spain for the week.

It seemed like a bit of nerves and just everyone trying to get through their stretches and exercises.

Yeah, like, big running nerds will know that, like, when there is a herd of Kenyan Ethiopian athletes who show up, you know it's going to be a fast day.

There is a team in particular that wear that track suit, like the light purple and dark purple T-Rops angels, as a nod to the runner Agnes Tirop who passed away a few years ago.

And...

We'll see.

Agnes Tirop will be back on the track again soon, by the way.

She said so, and, uh, a- after setting more records, she set the women's only world record in the half recently, which, um, is not nearly as fast as her actual half PR, but it's, it's just, that's how these things go.

[lip smacks] So, um, the, I will say the one exception is the women's steeplechase, which is really exciting right now globally with, uh, Faith Cherotich, with, um, I for- I'm blanking on names, Winfred Yavi, and Pamela Jelimo, uh, to name a few.
