Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now)

The stuff that she has on this playlist.

She has Against All Odds by Phil Collins, which is for...

I mean, unless she's doing a Taylor Swift and writing from various POVs, this is a divorced...

Dad's song? She is a 27-year-old fan against all odds.

Demo?

How many Genesis songs do you need on a playlist?

My love for that music, whether it's The Police, whether it's Genesis, whether it's, you know, it's really, and they don't understand how I incorporate that into, you know, I don't know if you remember, if you're old enough to remember Phil Collins doing, I think it was Band-Aid.

He went out and played Against All Odds, just him at the piano.

One of the greatest performances.

What a moment.

You got

the drummer from Genesis playing piano doing Against All Odds, which is not an easy composition to do.

So I think that may shock people when they hear that.

Would you ever consider doing collabs? Unexpected.

That's a good question.

Phil Collins, In the Air Tonight, Against All Odds, Another Day in Paradise.

Man.

Played him coming back.

Is this Phil Collins with Genesis?

Phil Collins by himself.

In the air tonight, Against All Odds, Another Day in Philadelphia.

Does

...

Heavens on Fire by Kiss, When Doves Cry by Prince, or Against All Odds by Phil Collins?

Heavens on Fire.

That is incorrect.

'Cause I'll still be standing here.

And you coming back to me is against all odds.

It's the chance I've gotta take.

[upbeat music] Take a look at me now.

I parked.

And right when I parked, Against All Odds started playing by Phil Collins.

There's no way.

There's no chance.

And also there were songs that were really big later that were written at this time as well.

So Against All Odds was actually written at this point, but the words were changed to suit the movie.

Yeah.

Yeah.

What was it called? The demos.

How can you just sit there? I think the against all odds demo was called.

Yeah.

Yeah.

So there's this big, great fight, and meanwhile, while that's all happening, um, Jodi, she gets on.

She's gonna sing karaoke, and she sings Phil Collins' "Against All Odds." [laughs] Which, uh, was a song I had not heard in I can't even remember how many years.

But- Oh, really? ...

when I heard it, when I watched the movie, I was like, "Oh, my God, I remember this song." And that guy who was, like, yelling at everybody, he's like, "Oh, I love this song," and whatever.

I, I'm, I'm glad.

Thank you for the knowledge drop.

I just wanna say, like, I mean, I will-- If I'm just having a rough day, I will just YouTube Fall Guy "Against All Odds" just to watch the scene, because it's so-- It's a-- First of all, it's a great fight scene, and the way they intercut her singing and Phil Collins singing and, like, this Alma woman also starts kicking some ass.

She, like, wakes up and starts, like, fighting in the cab of the truck.
