AEW Dark: Elevation

Well, let's get into what happened before and after the show, especially after the show, if that's the most noteworthy, Gregory.

Yeah, so before the show, there were three dark matches taped before the dark elevation taping.

Butcher and Blade beat Wheeler Yuta and Chuck Taylor.

Then Riho defeated the local talent, and Matt Hardy defeated the local talent.

And that was a victory for Nyla Rose and Ruby Soho.

No, no, Ruby Soho pinned Emi Sakura, I'm sorry, and then she was attacked after the match, and I pissed that one in the name of faith, which builds up to their second round tournament match.

And then the other match on the Dark Elevation taping was the Acclaimed and two partners against Numbers of Dark Water, and so people who want to watch that can check that out for themselves, and Max Caster had some heel lines about Pat Mahomes and Kansas City Barbecue being overrated, and so i had a joe biden uh poop his pants line it was less controversial than what he was saying before obviously i thought that was good and then uh tony khan came out just before the show and talked about this whole figure in what happened after the show he said this was the second most this was the second hardest week for him since he got into the wrestling business and uh i guess that's referencing that john moxley's situation so he came out and said that before the show started then after the show started i guess we'll get into it now um After the show went off the air, Miro left the ring without incident with Danielson.

And then Danielson, then Tony Khan came out and he talked.

why we had AEW Dark, and AEW Dark Elevation was for those type of things.

I just, I'm sick of this teeter totter.

I think the biggest mistakes TK has ever made, everybody's going to be like, oh, so I think literally the worst decision Tony Khan has ever made is getting rid of Rampage and getting rid of Dark and Dark Elevation.

Danny Limelight Danny Limelight goes under the spotlight.

Indie regular Danny joined the AEW train in 2021, and immediately nailed down a spot for himself on lower-end programming like Dark and Dark Elevations.

He wrestled 18 matches for the company that year.

Then, poof, Limelight just vanished in a puff of smoke and returned to the independents.

Because I think when Dark Elevation was on, I think like...

There was like 300, it was like at one point we had 300 episodes and 30% of the roster was people who were on Dark.

... footage, and then they actually play the live show now on-

But that would be like if AEW loses their TV deal, and it's like, "Well, we can still let you show, like, Dark Elevation on here, like reruns of Dark Elevation on, uh, TNT and TBS." It would just be weird.

But the other day, I actually watched... one of the YouTube shows on AEW, AEW Dark Elevation, only because I wanted to watch Buddy Matthews, who used to be Buddy Murphy and then Murphy, in the WWE.

The best match I've seen in several years was Buddy Murphy versus Aleister Black, who was another person I think Vince missed the boat on.

That was one of the best matches I saw.
