And then they reprinted him in Aetherdrift and it's, like, a purple thingy.

You know what I'm talking about? It's, like, a weird little fucking gremlin.

They did do that.

Thunder Junction makes an appearance a little bit in Aetherdrift.

yes it incentivizes attacking or figuring out ways to tap your creatures uh that are not them attacking which kind of puts into two categories of like one you play additional cards that provide abilities so you're playing these cards like like cryptolith right i'll use as an example right of like let's say you're playing an enchantment to give these creatures that can't normally tap an ability to tap and so now you're like cool i'm playing different card types i'm playing cards that make other cards better so it feels like you're picking all these pieces and even if you're picking stuff like vehicles or mounts or whatever like that's still attacking but it's a different experience for attacking

They did a really clever thing of putting it between OTJ and Aetherdrift in that this was like, oh, hey, look, here's a bunch of reasons to incentivize you to want to play creatures to tap out.

And it's like, it's such a, this was such a clever design for casual, like casual 60 card play or whatever.

Um, next let's talk about manifest dread, which is, uh, the another, it's like, okay, this year was weird.

So now let us move into the lands of this set.

First off, there are the Allied Verges.

We had the Enemy Verges in... that came in Aetherdrift.

But the Allied Verges, I'll read Blazemer Verge here, which is, it's a land and it taps out of black or it taps out of red.

Like, for instance, in this deck, I put a March of the World Ooze, which is one of the weirdest cards I think I've ever seen.

I pulled it in, like, when I went to the pre-pre-release for, um, L- LRR for Aetherdrift.

Uh, this card is, was like in my, uh, deck, and it was awesome there, and it's basically it turns all, everything into a 6/6 Ooze.

But whenever your opponent casts a spell, uh, on your, uh, on turn that's not theirs, you get a 3/3 elephant.

And like-

The layers, the layers are there

... and like, in, in, uh, freaking Aetherdrift, they put the Gilded Ghoda.

Ghoda is a Hindi word that means horse, and this dude, when it attacks while saddled, makes a treasure token, which is already right up there in the, oh, suddenly, here we go.

The, the Drift commander.

What's the Drift set? Aetherdrift.

Aetherdrift Commander.

[laughs] That took me a minute there.

Hell yeah, baby.

"I play Saheeli upgraded pre-con from Aetherdrift, and I don't remember what the other two players were running.

I know one across from me was running some other Temur deck.

I explained to the table that I have not played the deck since Aetherdrift was superseded by the following set, and can't remember what the win lines are or how the deck plays, but there are some combo lines.

We'd agreed to a bracket three game.

This will matter later.

Is Duskmourn even relevant? I don't know.

Aetherdrift? I don't know.

So sets in the Dragonstorm Arc were Bloomburrow, Duskmourn: House of Horrors, Aetherdrift, and Tarkir Dragonstorm.

This, uh, was, like, honestly just, like, scraping the bottom of the barrel in terms of literary plot devices.

So we have that.
