Aero Theatre

I was in a Hillstone in Santa Monica with, uh, my buddy David Phillips, and we were at, it w- the restaurant was called R&D Kitchen.

It's right across from the Aero Theatre, which is this great, uh, American Cinematheque, a picture house that shows a bunch of rep screenings.

Been there forever.

We're, we're sitting there, we're just dining in for lunch on a weekday.

This was filmed on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica, California.

The top of the marquee is not seen, but this is the Aero Theatre.

In the background on the far right here, you can see part of a poster for Mr. Sycamore, which was a movie by Pancho Kohner, one of the producers of this film.

The Aero Theatre was built in nineteen forty.

When this movie was filmed, it was a second-run theater.

It was restored in two thousand and five and is now a revival theater.

The movie playing in this story is Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, starring Robert Redford, and in reality, this was the movie theater that Redford went to in his childhood.

The Aero Theatre was later seen in the movie Get Shorty, where John Travolta watches Touch of Evil.

I, I posted once the Godzilla Minus Zero trailer came out, said, "I predicted this.

I predicted this w- way back, years ago," when I saw an interview with the director, a Q&A, after screening at the, uh, it was at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica.

Uh, the movie Godzilla Minus One went on to win an Oscar for Best Special Effects, which if you are a long time Godzilla fan, like, Toho monster movies were not exactly known for their effects.
