This was, um, part of a process to get to that particular point.

And, um, uh, Advocate, um, Pramod really trying to bring home the point, uh, that the actions that Parliament took or this committee took in this particular matter, uh, first to make that recommendation and then later to rescind it, um, it wasn't acting on external pressures from anyone, least of all the president, uh, who also objected, uh, to this recommendation being made, uh, final, um, saying that what the committee was doing really was to, uh, protect the integrity of this process, that it had adopted a higher bar, um, than the average for determining, um, what would be considered a, a, a high threshold, uh, for, uh, integrity, and that all the information that was put before it, be that from ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula, what MPs may or may not have known when they took that initial recommendation, what Advocate Madonsela himself declared to the committee.

All these were factors that it has taken into account to make sure that this process, uh, is, um, beyond, uh, reproach, and that, um, i-it could not be, um, argued for certain what MPs did and did not know, um, about the extent to which Advocate Mbalula at the time was consulting with the ANC on matters related to these impeachment proceedings, Mandy.

Obs, if as per Advocate Burger, SC argued for the ANC at the Concord today in the matter involving IEC, if there is no act, regulations which state that in order for one to submit a sub- a submit but- button as inserted by the IEC, legally there is no obligation for anyone to do so, even if parties include the ANC have been complying with the IEC's so-called submit button and press rule.
