Women want to preserve their womanly nature, to express their talents, and to be safe, not to be exploited on account of their inbuilt, inexpungeable nature.

one of the things i love about your writing not just in confessions but in the dear abby non-advice column is how accessible you make the jewish heart to people who aren't jewish i never really understood what it meant to be chosen and in the jewish situation there's a consensual relationship and covenant made over a taking on of responsibility for writing down this record we've referenced it as sibling rivalry before Do you feel like we're starting to get a better idea of the picture as we go along in history? Or are we kind of missing what is at the heart of anti-Semitism? I

think the consequential features of the hatred of Jews, those features of the hatred that make a great difference to the civilization that harbors those features, Those features are becoming more salient, are standing out in the awareness of people who are motivated, not just by a desire to be nice to persecuted people, fellow townsmen or countrymen, but by a desire to keep the patches and fragments, the puzzle pieces, I should say, of themselves from flying off.

Yeah, I love that.

Because there's nothing quite like spending half an hour setting some lovely lap times in practice, only to enter qualifying and suddenly forget how to drive the car.

And I really would love to hear your thoughts on this one.
