So I've been to a lot of those different spots going through everywhere there.

I think when it comes to adventure racing, trail running, and some of the things I'm in too, even just if you're out there, we're out there doing our own expeditions, a lot comes around the question around how do you assess risk and, and then make y- make a decision around what, what you're gonna move forward.

So there's one in Grand Rapids you call it.

It's Michigan Adventure Racing.

And they have one in three weeks in Muskegon.

Really?

Um, you're creating the board for the game versus like trying to beat someone else in a defined game.

And that's kind of, I guess, how I've grown up in a way, like coming to America with my parents, I used to love this crazy sport of adventure racing, which was more about, uh, it was like the longest race I did was like 60 hours, two and a half days, for example,

continuously.

continuously, and you're like map and compass orienteering.

And so I think it was probably for me in the DNA in some sense.

Also the

kid who did the adventure racing, I suppose.

Okay, this is... legendary racer Andrea Anderson joining us on the podcast today and this one was recorded a little while ago.

I sat on it for a bit kind of re-listening to it and it's a pretty sensitive topic on some level because we talk about risk and what really struck me is Andrea's take on risk, her willingness, her need for it and she's very unassuming, but she has been in the sport for a long time.

I don't really like to spend time doing things that aren't really going to push people or myself.

But I thought that the way that you talked about because the Magnificent was unique in the sense that this last edition was risky as a race director.

Like for us being willing to put on those two legs, the co-steering and the ocean paddle, it was a very, very, we had countless discussions about whether this was a good idea, relevant in the space of adventure racing, whether it was worth ourselves risking the like a more dangerous, you know, and real race setting, like expedition setting, environmental risk setting to put this on.

And so it was, you know, and there'll be a whole podcast on debriefing that and the failures and the pros and whether we're going to do it again.
