Witnessed some of the social media griping about overly quippy, i.e. overly online, exchanges in the FX comedy series Adults.

The series itself isn't a problem, so much as it's a symptom of a style that's now everywhere.

I was caught off guard recently watching the 1980 Louis T. Carr film Alligator.

Uh, my recommendation is inspired by a past guest, Emily Gould, who told us eith- either on mic or off that she likes the FX show Adults, and I kind of balked 'cause I was like, I saw the pilot, and it's stupid, and it's set in Queens, but it's clearly filmed in Toronto.

And it's like all this annoying zillenial humor.

But I decided to take Emily's advice, and I watched the first episode of season two, and I laughed a few times, and I kinda liked it.

So I guess I kind of now endorse FX's Adults, even if it's trying to be Broad City kinda too hard, but anyway, I had fun.

Nice.

It's fun to laugh.

Okay.

Next week, uh, we are talking about the second season of the FX series Adults, which is a Gen Z comedy that I think we are both really happy to report feels like a classic comedy.

Um, so it, it is a real, uh... it's a show we are both fairly excited to be able to cover.

And as a bonus, as we said, we're periodically gonna have interviews with people.

In this case we are going to have the creators of Adults on for a segment we've already recorded on a day when Katherine's voice still wasn't great.

In TV news, the messiest and most chaotic housemates on our screens are gearing up for a highly anticipated second season of Adults.

The FX comedy follows a group of 20-somethings living in New York, and we're less than a week away from the premiere of Season 2.

To help fans celebrate, the cast made a special appearance in New York with an immersive bodega experience.

Plus the cast themselves did a live table read.

That fan event, by the way, open all weekend long at Arlene's Grocery on the Lower East Side.

Season 2 of Adults premieres Thursday, August 27th, with all eight episodes streaming at 9:00 PM Eastern on Hulu that night.
