So for example, one of the speakers was the assistant undersecretary at the Ministry of Culture, and she's responsible for national policy for the preservation of modern heritage.

And again, it's thinking through, okay, it's not just about the buildings, it's about, well, why does this building particularly matter? How do you then use and reuse a space, a building, a neighborhood in a city that is changing so dramatically, like Abu Dhabi or the UAE as a country? And then you have an incredible leader in education and design, which is of course Adrian Lahoud, who is head of Royal College of Art for many years and now is director of their consultancy arm, and they're helping with projects being developed in Saudi Arabia.

And so he was brilliant because what I was trying to get from him is like, well, how do you allow education and setting up of institutions to feed into the wider city? Because you can be quite closed off sometimes when people are, you know, at a particular college or university and just living there, but the knock-on effect.

He was saying how culture is messy and you have to experiment and you have to give breathing space, but it also requires participation, and that's where Bill Bragin came in, and Bill is a friend.
