Adelaide 500

Footy season, you know, does its stuff.

Then we have the Sand, well, it used to be the Clipsal 500.

But it's the crash.

And to have Dick and Jilly there, you know, people that I, I, I grew up as a fan, right? I was a fan of the sport, and they were, they were once people that I had such, you know, fanfare about that I was...

I felt like I couldn't even talk when I used to see, see them at a, as a driver signing at the Clipsal 500 back in the day.

And to now be in a Ford, in a Ford Wolves as an employee, driving for that team, and then to win Bathurst [laughs] in number 17, I think that's definitely why this year means so much more, just because it's been such a, such a journey since I was probably four or five years old.

You know, that, that was always the dream as a kid.

And therefore it will say, "Well, hold on, if I am going on holidays, where should I put someone into the shopping list?" South Australia will be elevated a lot higher than what it would've been in the past.

And Barry, you would've seen firsthand when we had the Clipsal 500 initially, that became The Clipsal.

And for subsequent advertisers and sponsors, it's now the BP Grand Final.

They've always had to fight against that because it was so beloved that it became, the brand became the name of the event.

to them.

So a big one here that we want to get onto because we like talking, don't we, is Adelaide 500.

Obviously you've been in the news for last week and it's huge on our hearts because we're Adelaide based and that track, you know, I've probably raced seven or eight meetings there in Formula 3, old utes, super utes, Aussie cars.

So it does hold a place in my heart and to – To have a think about what they're doing now and realize that this may be the last year that we get to race on the current circuit.
