It's an episode from right at the beginning of the Hagstone podcast, where we spend time speaking about what it means to be magical practitioners who are deeply woven into and ultimately in love with the places that they find themselves in.

We speak about what it's like to learn that nature is the language of magic and that magic is ultimately the language of nature and that there's some space within us that has to realize that the human and the natural are not as separate as we've been taught to believe.

I want to maybe shout out one more story in the collection before we we begin to wrap things up here so we don't take up too much of your time.

I really enjoyed the story Hagstone by Tracy Wilkinson.

And it reminds me a lot of Daisy Pierce's Something in the Walls.

There's the use of hagstones there as well.

story I think is really really terrific you get a real sense of character just coming from the narrative voice I'm sorry Jeff I've forgotten the actual thrust of your question Just thinking about how well she wrote it.

It was probably more of a comment than a question.

I was just saying how I appreciate how the Hagstone is an artifact of folk horror, folklore.

It's being used to kind of undermine these concentrated powers.
