Adam Yauch

which is a homage to the Beastie Boys' song, What Comes Around.

At the very end, Adam Yauch says out of the blue, Doris the Thinkasaurus, and that always stayed with me.

And so when I had to name a page with my writings, what could it be? What name could I give it? Of course, art thinkasaurus thinking of Adam Yauch shouting that only to discover recently that it is in fact Doris the thinkasaurus with an F and it comes from the Flintstones.

It's my personal joke to myself which I now share with you and that you will either think quite bizarre or appreciate? Who knows? Let me know.

It's the first

Beastie Boy release since Adam MCA died in 2012.

Yeah.

This is his second solo album.

Mm.

And then when, uh, Yauch dies, right? And you see all the good things that he was doing, and it's like, oh my gosh, like I didn't-- I wish I would've like locked in on them, [lips smack] you know?

The appreciation factor while they were all still around, you didn't quite have.

But now, like when, when all the dust settled, you're like, "Oh yeah, these guys were the real deal."

Tragically, just after that, one of the members died.

Adam Yauch had a short battle with cancer and they promised him before he passed that they would never perform as the Beastie Boys again.

They wouldn't tour again.

They wouldn't release new music again and they wouldn't license their music.

Uh, the members of this band include, among others, his sons, Skyler and Davis Diamond.

So the Beastie Boys disbanded in 2012 upon the death of, of Adam Yauch, and, you know, that really kind of ended that whole project.

Those guys had worked together since the, you know, since the '80s and didn't really see a musical way forward without a, a guy who had basically become like their brother.

And so it's lovely to see Mike D kind of back in, in this realm with the first music he's put out in, you know, a decade and a half.

this one is my favorite most complicated one that would probably have to be 14 parts to be real and and include a full legal team rick rubin yeah yeah yeah um adam yoke as director Nathaniel Hornblower.

The Spike Jonze of it all.

Who was Spike Jonze? Why was Spike Jonze? Their whole period of having a recording and art studio space and clothing company vis-a-vis Mike D in Los Angeles.

Um, she's married to Ad-Rock, uh, one of the Beastie Boys.

Which by the way, I know, uh, we had the unfortunate passing of Adam Yauch from the Beastie Boys.

Is there any, is there ever a way to ever get the remaining Beastie Boys to make music together? They're now doing solo projects, but I just-- It, it would do my heart good.

Um, but, uh, I read-- I, I listened to that audiobook.
