And the thing is, Drew is not... 19 or 18 he's like 30 still pushing a broom he's like still trying to make it and that's why you're like oh you're cute yeah you're like never gonna make it um that's why we root for him you put like a teenager in there it changes the whole dynamic I digress.

Oh, well, it was a $200 million flop.

But I did get a cameo in it.

And it was more gonna be like, like Hedwig and the Angry Inch movie, like that kind of tone of a rock,

still a big movie, but they just had such big, you know, they just, oh, Adam Shankman, he's done some big movies.

And obviously I think he did Hairspray.

and then, yeah, it's, it's,

it kind of, I don't know if any of you or any of our listeners have seen, um, Adam Shankman's remake of Hairspray.

Uh, it's, it's, um, I, I'm pretty sure I saw that movie four times in the cinema.

I was absolutely in love with it when I was in college, but anyway, uh, I, I kept thinking while watching the debut that it felt like watching, um, Julianne Moore's character from Safe as if she were auditioning to be in Adam Shankman's remake of Hairspray, which I think is what gives the movie a lot of its comedic tensions and releases.

You've convinced me to watch it.

dance movies.

Right, and that's what I

was going to say also about Adam Shankman, who's the other sort of person doing musicals around this time.

It's like, he's not really the right fit either.

You do sort of want a quote-unquote, you know, prestige person directing, I guess.

So from the show, when I first moved there, it was in January of 2009, I believe, or 2010.

I booked the 82nd Academy Awards, the Oscars with Adam Shankman.

So it definitely was a very fortunate first month.

She'd rejoined the group shortly after this appearance by her bandmates.

The choreography for this sequence and the rest of the film was done by Adam Schenkman, a position he also held on such films as Adam's Family Values, Don Juan DeMarco, Casper, Congo, Tank Girl, George of the Jungle, Boogie Nights, Ants, Scream 2, Inspector Gadget, and more.

By the 2000s, he'd step into the director's chair and would helm such films as A Walk to Remember and the 2007 musical version of John Waters' Hairspray, to name just two.
