11:26
Well, that's why
11:27
we created, we created what we call our real coach method.
11:31
And real is not an arrogant term.
11:33
It is an acronym.
11:35
So R-E-A-L stands for relevant, experiential, authentic leader.
11:41
Relevant, experiential, authentic leader.
11:44
And I believe anybody who is serving somebody out there in the world as a coach should be a real coach.

16 MINS LATER

27:26
So was there any career decision in your life that when you took looked like a failure, but ultimately became as one of your biggest breakthroughs?
2:31
That's awful, brother
2:31
...
2:31
he, he, he was, he was in his 60s, right? So way too early.
2:34
But the good Lord had, had a reason.
2:36
And, um, before...
2:39
Uh, as this was going down, John Maxwell's always been a dear mentor, coach of mine for the last 12-plus years, and we were having a conversation.
2:47
He was there for me, shoulder, ear, whatever I needed, whenever I needed it.

24 MINS LATER

26:28
[sighs]
23:34
Okay
23:34
... burnout can mean so many different things to so many different people.
23:38
I'll give you a simple little one that is not necessarily a solution to burnout, but I'll give context here to, to the whole thing.
23:50
I believe that if you have to wake up by an alarm clock, you have a career.
23:54
I believe if you wake up and you just get out of bed and you're doing what you need to get done, you have a calling.
24:00
So when you have a calling, you don't get burned out from a calling.
24:04
Right? Your calling is what you are supposed to be doing, but if you don't know your calling and you're into a career You will eventually have burnout.

7 MINS LATER

30:48
How would you coach them through? What would you advise them to do? What's some steps, maybe two or three steps, that you would advise them to take to maybe get out of that?
7:19
Is that what really happened?
7:21
Well, that's a great question.
7:22
So as an entrepreneur, as someone who loves to...
7:29
I mean, let's be real, Michael.
7:30
What, what is an entrepreneur? An entrepreneur is someone who loves to start something.
7:34
Very rarely do they ever finish something.
7:37
And in my former life as a tennis pro, I had a, I had a vision.

18 MINS LATER

25:17
What enabled you to make that transition so completely?
6:13
And what happened?
6:14
Oh, I have such a great story here.
6:17
So 2021, so mind you, in 2019, I had three brokerage franchises that I owned.
6:27
We had an incredible software company that was running.
6:29
And when my father passed, I had an itch, right? We called the beach chair moment.
6:35
So I came back here to Charleston.
6:36
I sat on the beach and I was a spiritual guy.

16 MINS LATER

22:25
Do you still do one-on-one coaching? Or my bigger question is like, how did you transition from one-on-one to maybe group to community? How did that all unfold?
26:49
with those
26:50
spaces.
26:51
That's right.
26:52
So that's why I transitioned.
26:54
But I didn't want to do the flips anymore.
26:57
And I definitely didn't want to do general brokerage, even though I thought, well, I'll give this a shot.
27:03
I didn't like to take buyers out.

12 MINS LATER

38:51
Why do so many talented people struggle to turn what they already know into a clear business model?
10:42
How do you approach that?
10:43
Yep.
10:44
So if we look at a person first, right, let's look at the person.
10:48
We are made up of yesterday's experiences.
10:51
Yesterday can be I'm 49 years old.
10:54
I've got as long as I can remember experiences yesterday.
10:58
And those experiences can be problem solution cycles, true problem solution cycles.

14 MINS LATER

25:33
As you were growing your business, where did you hit some hurdles? How did you overcome those?
5:22
And I was
5:23
like, whoa, I can buy a house.
5:24
It only cost me 200 more than what I was paying in rent.
5:27
And about six months later, he says, hey, sell that house.
5:29
I was sell it.
5:30
Why should I sell a house? My parents have lived in the same house for 40 years.
5:32
I don't know this game.

7 MINS LATER

12:30
What, what's your advice? What, what's your insight regarding making that move? Cause you've done it successfully.
15:14
Mm-hmm.
15:14
And, and we went down that path, and he said, "Do you realize the first two things that you shared with me were feminine-based energies? And is she asking for that?" And I said, "No." He says, "Well, why are you asking for it?" And I said, "Oh, I think I need to be that." He says, "Well, but if, if your energy is that of masculine the majority of time and hers is as well, you're gonna walk into a scenario where you're gonna be inauthentic, and it's not gonna be desired by her.
15:39
So what does she really want from you, and what are we working on?"

13 MINS LATER

28:58
Mm-hmm.
28:59
And to bring that into the relationship, it's actually a, a, a thought process of pausing, right? Because inside of tennis, after you finish a point, when I was 12 years old, I learned a pattern, and the pattern was after the point, win or lose, you pause, you take your racket from your dominant hand to your non-dominant hand.
29:22
Well, first of all, you have to have a release, right? So the release is, and my coaches always, always say it's got to be within the confines of the rules, right? [laughs] So no smashing rackets.
