Adam Egypt Mortimer

So the 8 o'clock movie I saw was this movie Pathetic Fallacy.

Now, this is from a filmmaker, Adam Egypt Mortimer, whose last two movies I had seen and enjoyed pretty

well.

I wouldn't say I love them.

Especially the second of two secret screenings.

You burned it.

Because the filmmakers are friends of the fest.

You just wasted everyone's fucking time for a Nepo pic.

From there, I jumped right into Red Snow, which I think we may have to cover comes out.

in our kind of weird christmas land it is a it is a pretty gory uh santa as a vampire oh really but like a stranger vampire uh it's uh it's really it's really great uh i i mean it well you're again like since it's uh horror comedy as well um it's just a you know it um it's its own thing like there's there's a lot of like you know kind of uh sick jokes it's funny though i i really like it's from finland so uh another kind of twisted you know vampire movie absolutely but it's got a lot of stuff it's got a lot of great effects uh and the director was delight like it's it's pretty funny um you know kind of anti i mean this this person is has uh you know the director has done things like helsinki mansplaining massacre and night of the living dick so you can kind of see how he's you know yeah women are in charge in

the movie that's that's that's really cool it's interesting that that this male director has has taken on that which is great but i mean yeah no that's the that's the trail that he's going down uh

you know a disaffected youth uh has to spend time with her grandmother and there's also a vampire santa involved that sounds great yeah it's great uh and followed by okay i i have my own tastes and so i saw what i think is my favorite superhero movie okay of the year and i want more people to see it's called girl in the night uh total deadpan i i hate to People need a frame of reference.

So when I use this, when I say Napoleon Dynamite, it's not exactly like Napoleon Dynamite, but there is, you know, for a Western audience, that may be the closest that, you know, there is, you know.

And then went straight to an animated film, a French animated film called Gem Queen, which was possibly, and I mean this in the best possible way, it was amazing.

It's probably the biggest queer animated feature I've seen.

To the point where the director...

It pitched around during the pandemic, which is a terrible time to pitch a TV show.

But we did so with our very good friend and a director, horror director we really love named Adam Egypt Mortimer.

Adam did a movie called Daniel Isn't Real that I know a lot of people have seen.

Did a movie with Joe Manganiello a few years ago called Arch Enemy.
