Acts 3

Acts 3, 19-21 Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away.

in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you, whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things, about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from the ancient times.

And so this is Peter's second sermon, and he's explaining the word here is restoration.

In an open vision, I saw the hand of God writing in large neon letters on the back wall of the church, which of course I was facing.

He wrote Acts 3.19.

I knew what this verse said.

Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted away and times of refreshing come from the presence of the Lord.

Amen.

And our decree.

We declare that the breath spoken of in Acts 3.19 is being released in America and will not be stopped.

Amen.

But they will not come to you...

the name of jesus because of his presence his presence what's this acts 3 it's getting nicer verse 20 21 it says where are we put it give it to me give it to me now give it to me yes Give it to me.

Ask.

Where are we? The people have gone on retirement.

In fact, I want to show you a couple of passages because this is where all this starts to really come to clarity.

Acts 3.19.

Just before you do that, and I know we want to get back to that story.

I'm sorry for all the rabbit trails listeners, but I think we need to cover this ground.

But if we confess our sins, verse 9, He will forgive us our sins.

So there seems to be a confession.

Then we see in Acts 3, verse 19, Repent and turn to God that your sins may be wiped out.

Watch this.

There's lots of places we could turn in the Bibles to see times of refreshing.

But we're going to go to the traditional place over in Acts 3. where we're going to find a story that many of us are familiar with.

There's this man who has been lame from birth.

He came out of the womb.

He goes towards the presence of God.

The best way that the Jews could do it in that time, he's going into the presence of God.

And then as we read through the account here in Acts 3, we see that Peter takes this miracle that God had performed, and he starts teaching now about Jesus Christ.

And he takes this miracle that God has performed, and we see that it becomes a type, a symbol of something far, far greater.

We've got to wait for that day.

Look at Acts 3, verse 19 through 21.

It says, Repent, therefore, and be converted you know brethren we need to change we need to change that our sins may be blotted out so that the times of refreshing may come from the presence of the lord and that he may send jesus christ who was preached to you before and look at it now in verse 21 whom the whom heaven must receive until times of restoration of all things which god has spoken by the mouth of his holy prophets since the world began christ is in heaven for the time being until the time comes to restore all things he'll come to earth and will make his enemies his footstool and will establish the kingdom of god reigning on earth So continue now in verse 14 of Hebrews chapter 1.

Are they, in other words, angels, not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who inherit salvation? And so, yeah, Paul, the writer, summarizes the position of angels.
