Acropolis Now

We've read the T-shirt, shit does happen, and it happens to all of us.

So for me, you know, um, the stage became the place where I could go and really discuss the things that had challenged me most, um, starting with race when I was, you know, when I first started in the business with, uh, Wogs Out of Work and Acropolis Now.

And, and that let me detoxify the bullying and the racism that I'd encountered as a young, um, girl.

And, and then f- a lot of the female issues, class, and then infertility, and then stillborn, and the loss of a child, and a later in life mother, and now menopause.

Is

this peak Wogs Out of Work days? Acropolis Now?

No, we're talking like Wog Boy.

Wog Boy.

Which brings me to my latest and third series, kicking off with Australia's favorite Greek goddess.

My generation fell in love with her in the late '80s as Effie on the hit sitcom Acropolis Now.

Beauty, it's a curse.

[laughs]

Then you get into the 70s where it loosens up a bit.

Then you start to see all the multicultural comedy like Acropolis Now.

Effie's one of our guests.

As she said, you know, quite honestly,

Hello.

Alex, Channel 7, 70 years, what would you pick as a highlight? Acropolis Now.

Such a great show.

Yeah.

St. Kilda sending Ruckman Rowan Marshall to Geelong as part of a deal which sees the Saints receive pick 14 in the draft.

Kev Poulton in a moment.

First, a quick apology to George Kapiniaris and Simon Palamares, who were part of Acropolis Now, whose names temporarily escaped me.

Gary, you've got a what's happening? Good afternoon.

Um, you know, we talked about, you know, all of the things that you'd expect us to talk about.

We talked about Acrop- Acropolis Now.

We talked about Wogs Out of Work.

We talked about, you know, him being, you know, part of that, that generation of, of, you know, generation of, of, of entertainers who started, um, challenging some of those stereotypes by really leaning into them.
