ACE

Single screen, slot car variety.

It received a 92% score from Ace Magazine.

They said the graphics and sound and sheer playability are superb.

It is superb.

But Oids is a 2D... physics-based Gravatar-like, Lunar Lander-like game where you fly around, you shoot with some really cool graphics where you shoot at bases and you try to pick up guys.

And there's even an updated Blitter version, but we're not covering that.

Ace Magazine gave this a 97% score saying if you're sick of all those glossy disposable ST shoot-em-ups get Oids it'll knock your socks off this is also one of those games I'm describing it sort of comes in the middle where like you can play this for an hour it was not a quick arcade game but it was not what would come later it was one of those games that you could play in computer time for your computer hour I don't know how else to describe it than that

Yeah, so the reason we're not covering the Blitter version of this game is because the Amiga did get a later years release, and so you could play that on your Amiga.
