Accra Comprehensive Peace Agreement

There was never a strategy where there's a consensus on that.

And so the Accra Peace Agreement became yet another example of how multilayered the issue of governance has always been in Liberia.

And so a new dynamic to the peace arrangement in Liberia was having the women the Liberian Women Peace Network, being in Accra to observe the proceedings.

The women were very step up their role because they thought these representatives of the warring factions were just having a good time on account of the civil war.

And there were so many relapse, there were so many, uh, all of these agreements broke down.

When Taylor, uh, left Liberia and he didn't qualify to participate in the Accra Peace Agreement, we all see how he has tr- it, it changed the dynamics.

Today, we are 23 years after the peace agreement because Taylor was not a player in it.

Taylor was the only, uh, warlord who became president that had an extensive network, uh, within the sub region and beyond.
