Academy Museum of Motion Pictures

The online free archives are my stuff.

Because, I mean, I'm lucky enough to live in California where I can make a research trip or I can email the Academy Museum and get something sent to me.

But a lot of people don't have that luxury.

So I'm glad that there's free online archives of newspapers and... magazines are there for people, but I just I hope that they learn to take it with a grain of salt.

No, it was fun.

And it was nice that you and I got to see the Jaws exhibit at the Academy Museum.

So now a lot of those things made sense.

Now that I watch it.

It was weird.

Yeah.

Speaking of the Terrace at the Academy Museum, did you see that it's also apparently featured? They saw Matt Damon recording, like last week, a scene for the new Daniels movie there where he's dressed as an off-brand Power Ranger.

Yeah, you should search this.

And that is a free public-facing episode, but it kind of gives you the flavor of what we do over at Film Discoveries, which is just me, you know, maybe Elric at some point, too, talking to friends of ours, friends of the show, about... things that they are excited that they've seen for the first time in the last calendar year or so, usually five to 10 movies.

And I've talked to a ton of people from friends like Bill Ackerman, programmers, you know, John Redd at the Trilon, my friend Brian Raftery, film author and podcaster, has some great series over at The Ringer.

Um, so we're gonna talk off talking about the horror show.

Uh, so when people come to Los Angeles, uh, my second favorite place to take them, my first place being the new Beverly Cinema, which I, uh, am in a servitude, uh, uh, employee of in my way.

Uh, and my second favorite place I've taken, I think I must have gone, like, 10 times last year to the Academy Museum, which, uh, when I first moved to LA, it didn't have a museum.

Mm-mm.

And, uh, for film, and I, I remember just thinking every day, like, "This doesn't even make sense for a place like this." And they built this incredible museum.

And he's going to be talking about the book and signing copies of it coming up next Friday.

That's Friday of next week at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.
