say they did the same thing that I complained about in All New Captain America here, just a little bit, but she was fighting the Absorbing Man in I think issue 5, and he's just like,

a female

Thor?

Just like, again, putting that preemptively defending yourself through a villain's voice.

Crusher gets that role in Captain Marvel too.

Who? Crusher Creel, the Absorbing Man.

Isn't he the character who says the same thing in Kelly Sue DeConnick's Captain Marvel? I think he is.

Yeah.

I never understood why they chose to do Nick Nolte as his dad slash the Absorbing Man.

You say that.

I had forgotten the Absorbing Man was in that fucking movie.

I thought it was just him versus the military.

Yep.

And like you're seeing the back of Spider-Man who was routinely in his black and white costume at the time, iconic as it is.

And he's kind of been a like, offensive fighting stance and on his left side you've got absorbing man running at him with that big ball and chain and looking all he looks like he touched the asphalt that was under him because he's looking like made of rocks you've got titania to his right running towards him looking all fiery and angry and upset and um yeah absorbing man saying game over webhead i've absorbed the properties of this concrete and my gal titania is the world's strongest woman so Say your prayers pal, it's lights out time.

So like that's the stage that's set.

And it looks like in the background, they are like, it's probably like a landing strip for an airport perhaps.

Come on, man.

Well, anyway, let's get into some of the details inside this issue.

We have the Avengers and allies of Spider-Man, Peter Parker, the Wasp, Janet Van Dyne versus Absorbing Man and Titania.

Let me get through Jarvis's journal entry for our previous issue we covered, which was West Coast Avengers number 16.

Yeah.

It had a lot to do the episode heavily focused on Hunter and him trying to get vengeance and chasing down Creel and all the plots that had to do with that.

And I feel like it had, this was their way of re you know, not reintroducing, but letting you know that Talbot was kind of here and, you know, we're probably going to see more of him, um, either on a semi-regular basis or a regular basis.

He's becoming like a second, a secondary antagonist.

I think he, like, shoots May and Triplet to incapacitate them.

So he, like, goes against the plan.

And then Coulson comes out with the deus ex machina device and incapacitates Creel.

Turns him to stone or something.

And I got in right at what I still consider to be kind of the best run of that book.

I got in right after, well, with issue 120, Journey to Mystery 120, which was the beginning of a four-part story involving Loki and the Absorbing Man, and Loki's one of his many attempts to overthrow Odin and take over Asgard.

There hadn't been quite so many attempts back then.

But there was about a two-year run there where Stan and Jack just told some great stories.

"Behold the birth of our corrupt congregation, the most terrifying team-up of this city has ever endured.

Stilt Man, Absorbing Man, Mole Man, Every Man, Man Bull, Sandman, Titanium Man, Molten Man, Plant Man.

Together we are the Manosphere." I get it.

It's kind of funny, but this is also, like, Mystery Men or The Incredibles [laughs] not as Spider-Man.

That'd be pretty fun.

Kevin Smith's new villain, villain team, the Man-O-Sphere in new Spidey comic featuring Mole Man, Sandman, Absorbing Man, Stilt-Man, Man-Bull, and Everyday Man, a woman.
