Abitibi-Témiscamingue

Hi, I'm John Florek, President and CEO of Emperor Medals.

We are in the heart of the Southern Abitibi in Quebec, Canada.

We're looking for gold.

We have two advanced stage projects.

And quite a few names people have definitely heard of along the way.

So I'm intrigued as to what it is that you're trying to do with Emperor.

You're in the heart of the Abitibi.

You're surrounded by the great and the good.

Once a summer, the sailing ship from England felt its frozen way through the Hudson Straits, down the Hudson Bay, to drop anchor in the mighty river of the moose.

Once a summer, a six-fathom canoe manned by a dozen paddles struggled down the waters of the broken Abitibi.

Once a year, a little band of red-sashed voyageurs forced their exhausted sledge dogs across the ice from some unseen wilderness trail.

That was all.

Of all this region her father was the absolute lord, feared, loved, obeyed by all its human creatures.

When he went abroad he traveled in a state almost medieval in its magnificence.

When he stopped at home men came to him from the Albany, the Kenogami, the Missinaibi, the Matagami, the Abitibi, from all the rivers of the north, to receive his commands.

Way was made for him, his lightest word was attended.

And that to me is, is a story of a really good system in that you're having consistent mineralization across the property.

You're seeing these high grade feeders that are very common in neurogenic systems in the, you know, Kirkland Lake camp, the Abitibi in general, and those have a tendency to be extremely deep.

So that's a, that's a long-term play when we're chasing those high grades.

You know, the, the, if, you you can if you can grow this to you know multi multi multi-million ounces then you know you'll you'll be happy with your half gram material your gram material at the same time everybody likes when you have high economics with with the much better intercepts like that right and so it's the combination of both of those things and and that we're we're continually stretching the boundaries and that's where we are getting that surficial disseminated footprint.

I know who to call.

about archaea and geology in the Abitibi.

I know who to call about exploring for copper-gold porphyries in accreted terrain.

I know who to talk to about various aspects of resources in a way that people who aren't industry-specific and, frankly, people who aren't old can't do.

I think the first step, if they're able to do it, would be to consolidate in some measure the Taltan royalties.

Taltan is a different First Nations band, which has agreements on many of the same assets that Nations Royalty has as a consequence of their ownership by the Nisga'a band.

The real growth, I think, will occur to the extent that Nations Royalty is able to do acquisition agreements with First Nations groups in the Abitibi, both in Ontario and Quebec.

And I know that the focus of Nations Royalty is just that.

Moving on, Canada Nickel's flagship project is called Crawford and it's located roughly 40 kilometers north of Timmins in the Abitibi.

This is a classic moderate grade ultramathic nickel sulfide system hosted in serpentized dunide and periodite.

And don't mistake me for a geologist.

The pleasure is mine.

I'll be looking forward to hearing more about the story.

Now, when I think of the Abitibi, I don't think of nickel.

So I think that's going to be an interesting part of this story as well for me.

that's a that's that's a neat summary there what about the uh your um your history with public companies i assume this is not the first public company you're running so what have you done in in a public market so far and really what i'm looking for here is track record so if i backed you with all the previous ventures would i have made money

Yes, you would have, uh, the, uh, so, you know, I've been on boards of many, many companies, but, One of them, a very successful one, was a company called Abitibi Royalties.

I think it was the first, if not the first or one of the first board seats.

Abitibi was acquired, of course, by what is now Agnico Eagle.

It was a royalty on Malarctic.

It was a very successful company.

And I'm sure they do.

But if you have a mine in that top couple hundred meters, why not just do that? The entire Abitibi was built that way.

And so these are the biggest, you know, there's 300 million ounces of gold mined out of the Abitibi nearly.

And almost all of it was that style of mine, that style of deposit.

And in zero cases, absolutely zero cases was multi-million ounces drilled out prior to a production decision being made.

Mais au Québec, dès qu'on sort un peu de nos pantoufles, puis qu'on va dans d'autres régions, on vit d'autres sortes.

Tu sais, je suis sûre que si tu joues en Abitibi, y a plus de bibittes là, tu sais.

Ah non, c'est sûr, tu vis d'autres affaires.

Y a comme des trucs qui se passent, mais, mais j'ai, j'ai fait un peu de recherche sur le nombre de rondes.

Que ça soit pour le passe-temps que t'as, les conversations que t'as dans la voiture ou peu importe, t'es là, t'es arrivé, puis tu décroches complètement.

Je trouve que le golf t'amène ça naturellement pour moi.

Puis de se déplacer, d'aller en Abitibi ou d'aller ailleurs, puis de voir des, encore une fois, des tracks qu'on verrait pas proches, mais des s-, des, des panoramiques, des vues extraordinaires.

Je trouve que ça fait en sorte que, pour moi, de venir ici, de faire ça, ça me donne un petit boost, de vouloir aller plus loin, de vouloir jouer au Québec davantage, puis de découvrir d'autres terrains aussi.
