So I wasn't surprised when they start...

Abigail Shrier first talked about this, I think, um, that these girls, the girls that are, uh, bec- coming out as trans, uh, they score high on autism scales.

That's when I first thought, "Hello, this is the, the...

It's so obvious just this is the social contagion of our, of our time."

And you na- that's, I think you're right.

It's, Jon Haidt did such an incredible job with the smartphones and mental health, and Abigail Shrier with, with mental health in tech and psych writ large.

And, but as an educator, I was just interested in the learning aspect.

And so lo and behold, we have a lot of data about specifically tech for learning purposes.

And I think a therapist can be great.

A therapist also, like Abigail Shrier in Bad, in Bad Therapy is, it can also be problematic.

Yeah.

And it just depends on the quality of the practitioner.

If I wanted therapy, I would go to a therapist or, I don't know, I'd go on TikTok or whatever.

And so that was kind of the, the moment, uh, that was kinda the moment that I was like, "Oh, wow, this is, this is a real issue." And but then also, I read Abigail Shrier's "Bad Therapy"- And, uh, I was kind of like, there's a good point, there's some good points in here and some interesting research, but like the, the poor woman needed a better editor for the book because it just did not land very well, and I was just really frustrated.

I was like, "Okay, fine." This is when...

And, and that's, that's when I actually sent in the proposal for the book, was after I finished reading that.

As a parent, there's a really good book called Bad Therapy by Abigail Shrier, and she talks about this concept where h- historically, as parents, we would turn to our parents or other parents-
