Had you seen the movie Heathers before you were cast in the role?

I had seen the movie, but I think I'd only watched it because I was already a fan of the musical.

I think more people my age or my generation would've, or at least if you're interested in musical theater like I am, um, would grow up like sort of listening to the soundtrack of Heathers: The Musical and watching sort of bootlegs on, um, YouTube, which is like kind of illegal recordings of the musical, and just being a fan of it.

And I think that's how I really found out about it.

So how did it come about that you got this role?

Uh, well, I just submitted to, it was like an open call, which is where they'll submit the brief to pretty much everyone in Australia who's interested.

Um, and then you will just submit yourself singing, like, one of the songs.

I think most people, like, every- all of my friends all submitted to it, and then you kind of will get through to the next round, and they'll ask for more material, and then the next round, and then, yeah.
