And the best of fasting after the fasting of the month of Ramadan is the fasting that is done in the month of Allah, Al-Muharram.

The Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam, when he came to Medina and he found the Jews of Medina fasting the day of Ashura, they replied to him and said, "This is the day that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala saved Musa and his people from Fir'aun.

From the ways that we are showing thanks to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is us fasting this day." Then the Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam said his famous statement, "We are verily ones who are more deserving of Musa than you, and we are more befitting to fast this day." Fasting the day of Ashura, from the benefits that the Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam told us about fasting this day, it may expiate the sins that he has come with from the year before, and inshallah, the year after.
