Abby Erceg

We've got Amy Danielli and Brooke Narey in goal.

Defenders, as always, Mac Barry, Marissa van der Meer, Ellie Walker, and Abby Erceg.

Midfield made up of Grace Jale, CJ Bott, Pia Blok, Alyssa Whinnum, Tameka Yallop, Mikayla Bangalang.

And then you've got your attacking front line.

Tameka Yallop, Matilda, leader at Brisbane, incredibly experienced.

That is a gold standard signing.

Abby Erceg, football fern, played all over the world.

Another gold standard signing.

In goal, we have Vic Esson, Amy Danielli, Brooke Neary.

In defense, we have Mac Barry, Abby Erceg, Marisa van der Meer, Ali Walker.

Midfield attack, we have Grace Jale, CJ Bott, who is still out, uh, at the moment with her pregnancy.

Uh, congratulations to her having a baby.

Ella McMillan has gone, but has kept on some kind of bra- backroom role at the academy.

Grace Bartlett is gone.

Our ins were Abby Erceg in, um, as a center back.

What a signing.

Of course, they lost the grand final 3-1, having finished second in the regular season to Melbourne City.

Recruitment, man, how good's it been? Abby Erceg, India-Paige Riley, Millie Clegg, all football ferns.

Te Maire Yallop, a generational Matilda, Cam Pickett, and Zoe Benson on a scholarship have all come in.

What a, um, what a recruitment period [laughs] for the Phoenix women, Burch.

You know? So to do that is quite, um, is quite remarkable.

But also with these things like this, I, I like to look at the motivation, you know, why players are coming, and I can see the right reasons.

I can see plenty of hunger behind someone like Abby Erceg.

You know, she, she hasn't played at home for such a long time, since she was, what, 20 or something? I'm trying to remember.

Joining us now on the dubcast from the Wellington Phoenix here at the A-League's season launch day is Abby Erceg.

Abby, thanks so much for taking the time this afternoon to speak to us.

Obviously, the club came so close last season to winning two trophies.

Millie Clegg, football fern, returns to Wellington Phoenix after three years away, signing a two-year deal with the club after leaving in 2023.

They're certainly bringing in some names, aren't they? Abby Erceg as well, joining the Wellington Phoenix, which is fantastic.

And Abhishek Sharma, Indian opener, hits his 30-ball century.

A 30-ball century.
