You know, I will talk

about policy and everything that's happening and all the different states and how they're approaching it.

But in the end, it's just teachers in a room with students.

mandated or not to teach it.

In the end, there's no 9-11 teaching tracker.

Even Florida, who really tried its hardest, cannot tell you for sure what is happening in its classrooms.

But as a principal of a very prestigious school in New York City with thousands of kids in New York City, that is a unique setting in and of itself when talking about September 11th and teaching that day to our students.

I couldn't agree more.

It's such a hard, you know, I used to cringe when people would say the chosen people like cringe.

And I made sure to never use that.

That was a bad term.

But now that I'm really digging into this and I do want to talk about this group that we've created.

And I think I have a lot of evidence anecdotal to back up all your claims with thousands of stories at this point, but there is something, let me actually switch that for a second.

many many years and so abby when you decided to come back to camp it was especially nice for me because i was not the only representative of guest share 1992 our final year you're known by your final eda year as campers and we're just gonna talk a little bit here and and reminisce about what it was like to grow up here and and uh and the friendships you've held on since so good

I think that I've always thought that camp really helped you maintain friendships.

Your friends in your neighborhood are your friends in your neighborhood, and they were convenient, and you never really had to work hard at those friendships to keep that connection because you saw them every day in school.

So when you went to college, it was a total shift in your relationship if you went away, and you hadn't been there before.

But with your camp friends, pre-internet and social media, you always had to work to keep those communications.

You had to make phone calls, you had to write letters, you had to find times to see each other.

So when you went to college, if you weren't in school with some of your friends, your relationship really didn't change much.

this is, remember, this is now 34 years since we were campers
