In the United States, it's tradition, or in the Western Hemisphere, most people tune to A440.

In Europe, sometimes it's 445.

So it's sharp there, it's 440s here, and you detune it to 432, which means that the whole album sounds different than somebody else's album that would be an A440.

The reason why those are multiples of two is because an octave, that idea of going from do to do, right? Those two notes are a doubling of the frequency between the two.

If you've probably heard of A440, meaning A playing at 440 hertz.

Well, the A that's an octave below that plays at 220 hertz.

And an octave below that is 110.
