National Highways has issued a plea to lorry drivers to stop parking at St Saviour's Interchange near junction forty-three on the A14.

The issue arises when lorries park as a maintenance crew finishes night shifts between junction forty-three and junction fifty-one, causing queues that back up onto the A14.

There may be a few lorry drivers who do not know the area and might pass through town by mistake.

For these and others, I suggest that signs reading 'For Newmarket Industrial Estates, use Junction thirty-seven' be placed on the A11 at the Six Mile Bottom junction and at or near where the A11 and A14 meet, both eastbound and westbound."
