A Single Man

I was genuinely stunned to see this buried in the report.

Tom Ford, the legendary fashion icon and the filmmaker who gave us incredibly stylized, meticulous films like A Single Man and Nocturnal Animals-

A true auteur

...

Right.

Number six, one that you mentioned that I think, again, really hurts to have outside of the top five, but looking at the top five, there's just, like, number six is as high as I can place him, is Cullen Firth in A Single Man, which is... again great introspective very misanthropic in a way but very heartbreaking his chemistry with Julianne Moore is so fun his chemistry with Nicholas Holt right it's Nicholas Holt is the the student yeah it

Best Actress in a Leading Role went to Sandra Bullock for The Blind Side, beating out Helen Mirren for The Last Station, Carey Mulligan for An Education, Gabri Sidibe for Precious based on the novel Push by Sapphire, and I apologize if I mispronounced her name, and the other nominee was Meryl Streep for Julia and Julia.

They also gave Best Actor, in their case, Best Performance in a Motion Picture Drama.

Actor went to Jeff Bridges.

For Crazy Heart, beating out George Clooney from Up in the Air, Colin Firth for A Single Man, Morgan Freeman for Invictus, and Tobey Maguire for Brothers.

So a very similar list.

We have Ryan Simpkins as Alice.

Simpkins is an American actress known for her performance in Pride and Glory, A Single Man, Revolutionary Road, and this trilogy.

And finally, we have Kiara Aurelia as Sheila.

Aurelia is an American actress.

Yeah.

I love Nocturnal Animals, his two movies.

And right now they just started like the pre-shooting on Cry to Heaven, Anne Rice's novel.

Mm-hmm.

And one film that's on my list is a supporting role he has in A Single Man, which I do think is one of the best Colin Firth movies I've seen.

So yeah, we may well cover him again.

He did a remake of Brideshead Revisited.

first and foremost, we have Colin

Firth, known for things like Pride and Prejudice, Bridget Jones, all those films, Kingsman, King's Speech, Nanny McPhee, Mamma Mia, Devil's Knot, A Single Man, Tinker Tailor, Soldier Spy, Love Actually, Magic in the Moonlight, Christmas Carol, Shakespeare in Love, and Saint Trinian.

How old is Colin Firth?

This man Kyle playing games with the picture.

Do you remember any of the movies? It was the year the Golden Lion went to a film called Lebanon, which I'm sure very few remember.

The big star title was Tom Ford's A Single Man, which...

I think people seized upon in such a huge way because it was like the only sort of, you know, shot of glamour in that year's lineup.

But it was the year that Claire Denis premiered White Material, which is still one of my favorite films of hers, maybe my favorite film of hers.
