A Little Love Song

It's love, isn't it? Pure and simple.

Love is the central theme of this episode in many ways and it brings us directly to my first book that I want to share with you which is Michelle Magorian and A Little Love Song.

Now you might know Michelle Magorian more for titles like Goodnight Mr Tom which won the Much Missed Guardian's Children Fiction Prize in 1982 and for her other book Just Henry which won the Costa in 2008.

For me I think A Little Love Song is right up there with them And in many ways better.

It's so much more intriguing and subtle and wise.

And I think it's a much undersung song.

The lead is 17-year-old Rose, who if you looked up awkward in a dictionary, you'd see a picture of her and the setting is a British seaside town.

Due to circumstances, the girls are there without adult supervision and so for the first time ever must learn to live and manage the world by themselves.
