A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

It got there for a time when Game of Thrones was really going strong.

It's had a level of resurgence of maybe you could, should, or just go read Fire and Blood because we've got House of the Dragon, we've got A Night of Seven Kingdoms, all these shows that are really doing a great job for the most part, except for the end of Game of Thrones.

We don't talk about it.

That's also never finished, right? But Will it ever be finished? Who knows? Will I ever go back and reread or read a next book if the next book isn't the last book? I don't know.

Why the heck did you pick that to talk about today?

Mm.

They're often referred to as the Dunk and Egg stories.

Right.

Right.

And it follows a wandering freelance knight named Dunk and his young squire, Egg.

That is a profound structural pivot for this franchise.

Right.

Yeah.

There was the guy out of the last Game of Thrones, The Seven Kingdoms.

What was it? Yes.

The giant man.

So way bigger than Derry, which was really surprising to me because...

A- and by the way, it, basically on par, I think it's slightly bigger than The Knight of Seven Kingdoms, which was really, really surprising h- how many people tuned in for this, because this is really, like, not like Batman or even The Flash.

You know, it's like a pretty tertiary DC character.

So really surprising that people tuned in in such large numbers.

That comes out, um, in January.

And then also, we got a little tease for Knight of a Seven Kingdoms season two-

Yeah

... as well.

... on TV, we'll, we'll be well distracted, uh-

Yeah

... with Ahsoka and the Knight of a Seven Kingdoms and all that, so.

Yeah.

James is implying that they could have been called something totally different when their family was prevalent and living in the land of Valeria.

But when they left and came to the Seven Kingdoms, yeah, the stewards came to the Seven Kingdoms and said, we are now House Valeria.

So that's why they have the name now.

But then the Targaryens decided, oh, we're only going to mess with the people that's from where we're from.

So I guess his lineage, he kept enough in there to pass on to his bastard kids that they could be dragon riders because, you know.

So I will say that this show, and not to jump in front of you again, John, but I will say that this show does intrigue me about the origin of, I guess it's Aegon I, the Conqueror, coming, they're supposed to be, they're talking about doing a show for that, how he took over.

And it makes me a little more intrigued about Seven Kingdoms because we know that that's the Targaryen families, follows them a little bit in that joint after all of this stuff happens.
