In the movie about his life, it's called A Hidden Life, it was made in 2019, and it's a great movie.

Something I found particularly interesting was how ma- at many points in his process, I believe the mayor of Sankt Radegund said it to him, one of the people in the tribunal, in the army tribunal when they were trying him for treason of going against Hitler, and I feel I think a few other folks would say to him essentially, "What do you think you're going to change by conscientiously objecting to serving in the army? You're not actually going to change the tide of the war.

You are a nobody farmer in a nobody town with nobody who is listening to you, as evidenced by literally only your wife supporting you.

And today we're talking about unseen existences of heaven, earth, and the divine mystery in all things.

We've talked a couple of times about movies of Terrence Malick, including A Hidden Life and The Tree of Life.

And so I'm hoping that when Terrence Malick makes his great movie about Jesus, we'll

talk a fifth time.

I think The Passion of the Christ is a very effective movie in a lot of ways that I think he wanted that to be very close to scripture and I think he did some creative things with it that show his talent as a director.

Another one who I think also has some gifts in that way is Terence Malick so he I'm trying to remember what the name of that he just did a movie that's based on that guy that was just canonized in Austria who was the farmer who resisted the Nazis and was ultimately martyred a hidden life a hidden life that is one of the best Christian movies that's not really billed as such that I've ever seen and so I think Terrence Malick is a Christian and I think he tries to portray that in his work

yeah you know I Yeah, I think Mel Gibson, I am curious to see his resurrection, his take on that and what he does with that.

I was kind of sad to hear that it's going to be in English and not in Latin and Aramaic.

So there you go.

And then 2019, no actor that I know of, and this is going to be an interesting one to do, because It's called The Hidden Life.

It came out in 2019.

Even Malik said himself, he said, oh, I better tighten up my scripts a little bit.

He was tried for treason on falsified evidence and was beheaded on July the 6th, 1535.

His life was portrayed in the 1966 Academy Award-winning film, A Man for All Seasons.

His last letter to his daughter Meg is read by Father Nathan Ritchie.

Although I know well, Margaret, that because of my past wickedness I deserve to be abandoned by God, I cannot but trust in his merciful goodness.

This is his last letter to his mother, written the night before he was executed by firing squad.

He was only 14 years old at the time.

His character was portrayed in the 2012 film For the Greater Glory.
