You get the second track, which is called A Flower, and this one is just piano, if I'm not mistaken, right? Just acoustic piano from Kenny Barron.

Yeah, yeah.

So this track is just a solo acoustic piano piece, and this song's a mostly through-composed piano feature.

That's right.

Yeah, we're sort of shifting gears on what typical jazz practice would be, and through composition is one of the ways to do that.

And I think in general, this track, A Flower, sounds a little bit more predictably like Kenny Barron.

um you know that you would think of when you see his name today you know classic piano very beautiful playing very harmonically based knowledge playing and he's improvising improvising more on sound and feel throughout this track rather than just improvisational language even though certain lines you can hear are based on specific sounds that you play through in traditional jazz it's sort of superimposed over and he's doing it in a very specific romantic way um on this track and there's a lot of imagery you can get i certainly get the picture of a group of flowers lightly blowing in the meadow while listening throughout this um this tune of flower and it's interesting to have a solo piano track in the mix of these tunes it really adds to the ebb and flow of the whole album
