A Bill of Divorcement

Catherine Hepburn, the only actor or actress with four Oscars.

Her first movie in 1932 was in Morning Glory, Little Women, or Bill of Divorcement.

Well, you had so much trouble pronouncing the last one.

I'll go with the last one.

Bill of Divorcement.

Yeah, I can't see you making that up.

I'll take that one.

Um, although those are harder to watch late at night, but, uh, and in that time I've gotten into Catherine Hepburn and the way I, I kind of like breaking into older movies is I I'll pick like a director or a star and kind of just go down that rabbit hole.

And so recently I've been into Catherine Hepburn stuff and, um, So I was watching Bill of Divorcement, which was kind of her like breakout role directed by George Cukor.

And then that was 1932.

And then I watched Holiday, which came out in 1938.

And I just really have fallen in love with that.

So I was like, okay, we got to do something with this.

I wrote an article about bill of divorcement for Calcopia.

And I was like, all right, let's do a couple of movies.

And you see it certainly in the golfing scene and everywhere else, uh, the, the tilt of the head, uh, which she, you know, picked up from, uh, watching and studying the Katharine Hepburn films.

And what I had her do was watch every one of the Katharine Hepburn films on a big screen from 1931, I think, or three, whatever the first one is, Bill-- A Bill of Divorcement with John Barrymore, through Morning Glory all the way up through, uh, Spitfire and, um, um, Ala-, um...

Oh, uh, strange one that they're making on the beach, uh, Sylvia Scarlett.

[laughs] Uh, it's a very interesting film.
